On behalf of the parish, Fr Antonio thanks Austin Abraham for his ten years of altar serving at St Theresa’s. To mark this milestone, our parish priest has successfully applied for a Guild of St Stephen silver medal to be presented to Austin in the autumn.

When an altar server is enrolled to the Guild, he or she is presented with a bronze Guild medal as a sign of confraternity. The server is eligible for a silver medal after at least ten years of faithful and continuous service.

Austin first started altar serving immediately after receiving his First Holy Communion in April 2016. Today, as one of our senior servers, Austin has taken on a leadership role in the parish Guild and lends support to new and younger altar servers.

The Guild of St Stephen is an international organisation of altar servers founded in England in 1904 by Father Hamilton McDonald. Membership of the Guild is open to any server, without any limit of age, who can serve Mass, and who has shown proof of a desire to conform to the object of the Guild.

We are very much looking forward to presenting Austin with his silver medal in September.
