It’s not just spiritual preparation we’re making this Advent — we’re making practical preparations too! Over the next two weeks, we will be making big changes for the arrival of Wendy, our new parish administrator.

For the past several years, the church sacristy has also served as the parish office but this will no longer be the case when Wendy begins her role on 19 December. The parish office will be based in the presbytery and office hours will be 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, Tuesday to Friday. The office will be closed on Mondays.

From 19 December, you will still be very welcome to have a quiet word with Fr Antonio in the sacristy before or after Mass about personal matters but other concerns—such as booking Mass intentions, enquiring about baptisms, requesting certificates, etc.—should be addressed to Wendy during office hours. It goes without saying that in cases of emergency, Fr Antonio will still be happy to take calls outside of the office hours.

Moving the running of the parish from the sacristy will give back to the sacristy its intended purpose; and that is to allow priests, sacristans and altar servers to prepare practically and spiritually for Mass.
