We are required by Canon Law to have a Parish Finance Committee (PFC). The PFC exists to help Fr Antonio maintain the parish finances. Members of the committee — who are all volunteers — help and advise Fr Antonio (who is responsible for all financial decisions) on the administration of the goods of the parish and to ensure that the requirements of the Charity Commission are fully complied with.

The PFC is looking for two more members to fill two roles: Data Protection Officer and Health and Safety Officer. Appointments are initially for three years.

Though very important to the day-to-day running of the parish, the roles are not as scary as the titles make them sound to be! You do not need to be experts on data protection or health and safety to perform the roles as training and guidance will be given. Both roles will be supported by Wendy, our new parish administrator, when she assumes her position on 19 December.
