Our parish will have the privilege of hosting the National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima and the relics of Saints Francisco and Jacinta next weekend, 13 and 14 September.
The National Pilgrim Virgin Statue is a hand-carved image of Our Lady of Fatima blessed by the Bishop of Fatima at the closing of the Jubilee Year on 13 May 1968, and brought to this country the following year. The statue and relics of Saints Jacinta and Francisco travel around the country visiting various cathedrals and churches.
During the visit, there will be opportunities to venerate the relics, watch a docu-film and hear a talk on the message of Fatima. There will also be enrolment and investiture of the Brown Scapulars. Other activities include a recitation of the rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
The night before the visit, 12 September, we will show the 2020 movie, Fatima, and on the evening of the first day, 13 September, there will be a music recital for Our Lady.
