Six of our altar servers joined hundreds of altar servers from other parishes in the diocese when they attended the Mass for Altar Servers at Westminster Cathedral on Saturday, 4 October 2025. The Mass is organised annually by the Archconfraternity of St Stephen (also known as the Guild of St Stephen) to unite servers from different parishes for mutual support and encouragement.
Bishop James Curry, Auxiliary Bishop of Westminster, celebrated the Mass and he thanked the altar servers for the contributions that they give to their respective parishes. He told them to never underestimate the work they do and the hope that they give to the Church, and encouraged them to keep getting to know Jesus when serving at the altar.
Fr Antonio and the altar servers’ parents also attended the Mass. Fr Antonio was clearly proud of the altar servers while their parents were visibly moved by the Mass and the many tributes given to their children.
